Dayana Mendoza is a Venezuelan model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2008. She was born on June 1, 1986, in Caracas, Venezuela. She began her modeling career at the age of 15 and was crowned Miss Venezuela in 2007. She went on to represent Venezuela in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, which was held in Vietnam, where she was crowned the winner. After her reign as Miss Universe, she has worked as a model and television host in Venezuela and in the United States. She has also been involved in various charitable organizations, including the fight against HIV/AIDS and breast cancer awareness.
